I love it! A 2 meat plate with bacon, salmon cakes, grits, eggs, and toast. Such a great place for good homestyle southern breakfast!

Stopped in to pickup breakfast. Food was great. I had a breakfast tray (2 eggs, meat, hash browns or grits, bread) for a great price. Eggs are made to order and were very tasty. I went with the salmon cake since it's gotten good reviews and is not something I see that often. To me, this was the best part. The salmon cake was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Flavor was great, perfectly seasoned. Hash browns were more like fried potatoes but tasted yummy. Biscuit was the only disappointment as it was kind of dense. Sign posted said they are currently only serving breakfast.

Good ole southern breakfast just like how mamma makes it I'm a country man and I loved every bit of it. If you want some breakfast that feels close to home. Than this is a place you definitely need to try.

I gave a four star just because of the benches inside are pretty uncomfortable but the food was outstanding. I had eggs, potatoes and toast and bacon and it was like homemade cooking only better because I didn't have to cook it. I live right behind the restaurant about 100 feet away so I can walk there on a whim. Prices are great, staff cheery and it's simple but delicious. Don't let the outside convince you otherwise, this place is worth every penny. Great food.

I always go for breakfast because the chef makes great salmon cakes. My mom and I are cool with the staff and they always get our order right. Good food and good customer service :)

I wheeled into the Current Cafeteria on a whim one day. Its hard to find good soul food, so when I see it n my area I make an effort to stop in. In this case I was glad that I did. From the outside the place looks kind of run down. Inside is the same way. Parking is limited to one side of the building, and is in that private lot only. Its kind of a pain to get into and out of being at a red light. Seating is the old 1970's welded up steel frame seating, where you cant move anything. Lucky there were a few tables on the wall. Its definitely not built for comfort. You order from a line like a traditional cafeteria from back in the day. The menu is a hand written board. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had the fried chicken with cabbage and lima beans, with rolls on the side. I added a tea to drink, and my total was $6.29 with tax. The prices here are great! They also take credit cards, which is great also. When I visited it was after lunch time, maybe 1pm in the afternoon. There was nobody in there except for the staff. The food was still hot and fresh tasting. Fried chicken was as good as I have had. It was cooked up nice with the perfect balance of taste, breading, crunch, and inside doneness. It wasnt greasy at all. The sides were spot on as well with the cooked cabbage tasting like real home cooking. My friend got hush puppies and after sampling these I wish I had got them. The hush puppies are awesome. Make sure you get them if you go. All in all I enjoyed my visit, the food is good old home cooking, and the prices are great. Outside looks a little scary, but dont let it fool you. The food has more soul than soul train.. and brother.. thats a lot!! 5 stars.

Definitely love those down home kind of eateries where you can get a full meal and this is definitely one of those places......If you want good southern food, then this is the place to go........The staff is really nice.........

You can't go wrong here. I really enjoy the breakfast. No frills just good food.

Current Cafeteria is one of those dying breeds--the traditional meat-and-3-veg place. While I've never made it over here for breakfast, I've had lunch several times. This is traditional southern fare, like my grandmother used to make. I'm particularly fond of the greens, okra, and fried chicken. Open only for breakfast and lunch. No frills, just good southern fare at a traditional southern lunch counter. Go try them today before this style of place (and cuisine) is a thing of the past. And don't forget to have a slice of pie.
